Making Important Decisions
Day in and out, there are so many decisions we have to make. Put in the uncertainties and overload of information during the pandemic, no wonder we feel mentally exhausted easily! So how to go about it if there are some tough decisions we have to make? Check out the slides for some tips! Let me know in the comment if you have other tips or questions :)
Be specific Example: Should I send my kids to school in person instead of going on virtual school?
Write it down - it takes the mental load a bit, so it is more concrete and more manageable than if you just letting them running around in your head.
Write down the pros and cons of the choices
Pros
Kids will see their teachers and friends at school
Kids suffered during the virtual learning
I can finally focus on my work
No outbreak so far in their school
Cons
There is health risk for the kids
Might bring virus home
Getting the kids to get ready to school is a hassle
Kids are annoyed with the masks and social distancing restrictions at school
Weigh in the importance of each points of the pros and cons from 1-3 (1:not so important, 2: important, 3: very important) - you might have more points in one category, but when you weigh in the importance of each point, you could see clearer on what decision suits you and your situation best.
Pros
Kids will see their teachers and friends at school -- 3
Kids suffered during the virtual learning -- 3
I can finally focus on my work -- 2
No outbreak so far in their school -- 2

Kids are annoyed with the masks and social distancing restrictions at school -- 1
Decide confidently. When you made your decision, be firm, and own the decision. It doesn’t need to please anyone but you, and you are the one that will deal with the consequences.
